SCOPE
UIUX Design, Robotic Design, Software Development

The robot features an inclined touch monitor and a user-friendly interface with large, bold fonts, making interactions comfortable and straightforward for all users, including those with visual impairments. The ergonomic design ensures that the robot is easily accessible at a wheelchair-friendly height.
Designing for Accessibility
We partnered with PHAB campsite to design a unique robotic delivery system tailored to enhance the daily operations and inclusivity of their services. Our project focused on creating a robot that efficiently transports documents and papers from the office to various camp rooms, specifically designed to be user-friendly for both campsite staff and wheelchair users.
Navigating Public Interaction Challenges
Our approach tackles the inherent complexities of designing for varied and spontaneous public interactions, ensuring that users of all ages and abilities can engage with the robot effectively without additional guidance. This includes universally recognisable non-speech audible alerts and multilingual speech-type alerts to cater to a diverse camp population.
To gain public acceptance, the robot’s design includes a smiley, welcoming face and is themed with a charming penguin character to resonate with the campsite's friendly atmosphere, making technology approachable for users of all ages.

Error & Guidance
Through collaborative brainstorming sessions and the creation of detailed flow charts with our client, we planned out various scenarios the robot might encounter. We've incorporated specific design elements for error messages that are straightforward and actionable, helping to minimize user frustration and maintain operational flow even when issues arise.

Technological Integration and Testing
By leveraging 3D printing technology, we rapidly prototyped and tested the robotic shells on-site, allowing for iterative enhancements based on real-world feedback and interaction trials.
