Tailored Solutions for Elderly Care Management
We designed an intuitive event management system specifically for elderly care programs, seamlessly integrating user, participant, event, and lesson management functionalities. Accessible via an easy-to-use iPad interface, this system facilitates effortless event registration and health data entry.
Our approach embraced the diverse needs within the NGO, from event staff to elderly volunteers. By crafting a design that's easy for all to use, we've reinforced our dedication to inclusivity and practical technology. This system not only empowers elderly volunteers by aligning with their abilities but also encourages their active participation, fostering a strong sense of community and engagement. This aligns perfectly with the NGO's goals of enhancing contribution and connectivity among the elderly.
Elderly-Centric Design Approach
Recognising the unique needs of our elderly volunteers, we customised the registration process with a number-based system that enhances usability by combining paper-based methods with digital processing.
At registration, each attendee receives a unique identifier, which volunteers record on paper to reduce reliance on direct digital input. Post-event, volunteers with Chinese-typing ability digitise this data, matching names to health records collected during the event. This system ensures accuracy and empowers elderly volunteers, aligning with the NGO’s mission to involve and empower the elderly effectively.

Prioritizing Accessibility in Design
We enhanced the system with large fonts and color-coded buttons to aid elderly users in distinguishing various functions. These design choices ensure that the system is accessible and straightforward, making technology a helpful tool rather than a hurdle.

Feedback-Driven Development
Through prototyping, we gathered valuable feedback that guided our design improvements. This process highlighted the effectiveness of our user-centric enhancements in fostering a positive user experience and acceptance among our elderly audience.
